Symbiosis swap routes: 437 exclusive cross-chain pairs
Based on our June 2024 cross-bridge study, some token pairs only moved through the Symbiosis bridge, including direct swaps into Bitcoin. We'll break down what made these routes exclusive and how to find them in the exchange.

Key takeaways
In a June 2024 study, Symbiosis supported 437 unique swap routes that no other researched bridge offered across 30+ blockchain networks.
Research compared Symbiosis against deBridge, HOP, Across, Wormhole and Orbiter Finance as of 14 June 2024.
Only Symbiosis connects users to BTC; TRON, Rootstock, Metis L2, Kava EVM and Telos are fully exclusive routes.
Avalanche, BNB, Polygon and Mantle hold more exclusive routes on Symbiosis than on any other protocol in the study.
Smart contracts handle multi-hop bridging in one step; TON Bridge v2 and Native BTC Bridge mainnet are next.

What sets Symbiosis swaps apart
There are several features that distinguish Symbiosis from other bridges and swap protocols in the current DeFi market. One of them is the availability of supported blockchain networks.
With its number heading beyond 30, the number of token pairs is great indeed. This is a cross-chain we believe in and dedicate our resources to build further.
Symbiosis’ team made a research on the availability of swap pairs that are active across numerous protocols - including Symbiosis. The results are impressive!
Annotation of the Research
Let’s break down all important data to take into account while reading our Swap Pairs Research.
The scope of researched cross-chain protocols
For this research we included such platforms as Symbiosis, deBridge, HOP Bridge, Across Bridge, Wormhole Bridge and Orbiter Finance. These protocols highlighted as the most popular networks in several databases (f.e. DefiLlama).
The date of the research
As on 14th of June 2024, the results of the research are valid. If you read this blog post later this year, the outcome may vary due to the rapid expansion in the DeFi market.
Approach to collect and analyze data
We used observation and secondary data analysis as the data collection methods.
Important Terms
Swap Routes - the routes of exchanging supported assets across networks. For example, there may be one-way or two-way routes between two blockchain networks;
Unique Routes - the routes that are exclusively supported by Symbiosis protocol but not available in the selected platforms.
Exclusive Routes in Symbiosis Protocol
The outcome of the research is the following: there are 437 Unique Swap Routes that only Symbiosis supports across all researched protocols. Here’s a chart of all of them

What we observe here is that Symbiosis leads in the full cross-chain category as the protocol that connects a lot of blockchain networks across the majority of them. It’s an important highlight because other bridges may support multiple blockchains but not connect them with each other.
Some other interesting results we observed:
TRON Blockchain, Rootstock, Metis L2, Kava EVM, Telos and others are fully exclusive routes - meaning that only Symbiosis supports swaps from and to these networks across 30+ blockchains;
Avalanche, BNB, Polygon and Mantle networks have more exclusive routes at Symbiosis than any other researched bridges and protocols;
No bridges except Symbiosis from the research list have provided their users with swaps to Bitcoin, while Symbiosis maintains a cross-chain connection to BTC;
Ethereum, ZKsync Era, Linea and Arbitrum One serve as the most popular networks across researched bridges. However, only Symbiosis supports bridge ETH from ZKsync to Polygon, TRON and BNB Chain.
Swap and bridge 430+ exclusive asset pairs
One of the perks that users get while swapping via Symbiosis WebApp is the simplicity of the process - no need to bridge tokens manually several times. This job we leave to our Smart Contracts.
Try it yourself! Browse over 430 Unique Swap Pairs and exchange tokens with the smallest gas fee amount at Symbiosis WebApp.
Follow Symbiosis - we always deliver
The upcoming months bring lots of integrations to the table. As we continue to onboard new blockchain networks, build TON Bridge v2 and migrate Native BTC Bridge to Mainnet, it’s the best time to sign up for the updates from Symbiosis!
FAQs

01
How many unique swap routes does Symbiosis support?
Symbiosis supports 437 unique swap routes that are not available across the other researched bridges. The figure comes from research dated 14 June 2024 comparing Symbiosis with deBridge, HOP, Across, Wormhole and Orbiter Finance.
02
Which bridges were compared in the Symbiosis research?
The Symbiosis team compared its protocol against deBridge, HOP Bridge, Across Bridge, Wormhole Bridge and Orbiter Finance. These were chosen as the most popular cross-chain networks based on databases like DefiLlama.
03
Can I swap directly into Bitcoin with Symbiosis?
Yes. According to the research, none of the other compared bridges offered swaps to Bitcoin, while Symbiosis maintains a cross-chain connection to BTC. A Native BTC Bridge is also being migrated to Mainnet.
04
Which networks are fully exclusive to Symbiosis swaps?
TRON, Rootstock, Metis L2, Kava EVM and Telos are listed as fully exclusive, meaning only Symbiosis supports swaps from and to these networks across 30+ blockchains in the studied set.
05
What does Symbiosis call a unique swap route?
A swap route is the path for exchanging supported assets across networks, one-way or two-way. A unique route is one exclusively supported by Symbiosis and not available on the other researched cross-chain platforms.
06
Which chains have the most exclusive routes on Symbiosis?
Avalanche, BNB, Polygon and Mantle have more exclusive routes through Symbiosis than any other bridge or protocol covered in the research. This reflects how Symbiosis connects these chains to a wider set of networks.
07
Can I bridge ETH from ZKsync to TRON or BNB Chain?
Yes. The article notes Ethereum, ZKsync Era, Linea and Arbitrum One are the most popular networks across bridges, but only Symbiosis supports bridging ETH from ZKsync to Polygon, TRON and BNB Chain.
08
Do I have to bridge tokens manually on Symbiosis?
No. Symbiosis WebApp handles multi-step routing through its smart contracts, so users do not need to bridge tokens manually several times to complete a cross-chain swap across the 430+ unique pairs.
