How Does the Symbiosis BTC Bridge Work?
All Native Bitcoin Bridge transactions are handled by Symbiosis within the protocol. It means that when you initiate a transaction like “BTC to USDT/USDC” or “ETH to BTC”, they are processed via the Symbiosis BTC Bridge.
Let’s take a look at the flow:
• If you bridge to Native BTC from any supported token, you only connect your wallet, insert the required Bitcoin Bridge information and initialize the transaction. As soon as the exchange is finished, you receive your BTC to the stated wallet address.
• Therefore, the bridging from Native BTC to the desired asset requires similar steps: you state the information for the exchange, confirm the terms, send your BTC to the designated address and receive the chosen tokens in return.

How to Bridge to and from BTC?
You can move assets to Bitcoin and from Bitcoin using the same flow. To illustrate the process, here’s a real example of bridging USDT on Ethereum to native BTC.
Connect your wallet in the Symbiosis WebApp
Open the BTC Bridge and connect a self-custodial wallet. The balance and address appear instantly.
Set the transaction parameters
In this example we swaps 10,000 USDT on Ethereum. The destination asset is 0.10316046 BTC, sent to a Bitcoin address. All fields must be filled before moving on.
Check the details before confirming
The interface shows:
• Minimum received: 0.10316 BTC
• Estimated time: 6–10 minutes
• Price impact: –0.24%
• Fee: $30.48
The route for this transaction is USDT → USDC → USDC → BTC.
Start the bridge
Press the “Swap” button to start the bridge. If you were bridging from BTC, you would instead send the exact BTC amount to the provided address.
Wait for completion and receive the funds
Once the transaction is processed, the BTC shows up at the specified address.
