How to use TRON in MetaMask

Get a clear overview of how TRX works in MetaMask and what you can do with it. Below you’ll find the key steps to view your address and bridge assets to EVM networks.

/intro

TRON is now live in MetaMask

The integration of TRON into MetaMask marks one of the most anticipated network expansions in recent years. With TRX now accessible alongside EVM chains in a single interface, users can manage assets across ecosystems without switching wallets.

This connection between the TRON network and EVM networks significantly simplifies cross-chain activity, especially for moving stablecoins like USDT and USDC between major chains.

Step 1: Update MetaMask and access your TRON address

Update your MetaMask mobile app or browser extension to the latest version. A TRON address is generated automatically inside your account, allowing you to store TRX and TRC-20 tokens directly without adding network settings manually.

Step 2: Connect both EVM and TRON accounts in MetaMask

Connect your MetaMask wallet to Symbiosis in two steps: first approve the connection with your active EVM account (e.g., Ethereum), then confirm the TRON account so the app can use it as the destination address.

Step 3: Select an EVM to TRON route in Symbiosis

Open the Symbiosis app and choose Ethereum as the source network, select USDT, and enter 1000 USDT as the transfer amount.

Step 4: Review the Route and Minimum Received Amount

Check the displayed cross-chain path and confirm the minimum received amount, which in this example is 994 USDT before approval.

Step 5: Receive USDT on your TRON address

Approve the transaction in MetaMask, and after confirmation on Ethereum, 995 USDT will be delivered to your TRON address.

/faq

FAQ

Do I need to create a separate TRON wallet?

No. When you update MetaMask, a TRON address is generated automatically within your existing account. You don’t need to install a separate TRON wallet or configure network parameters manually.

What happens if I already had an EVM account connected?

If you previously used an EVM account, the TRON address is added to the same multichain profile. You simply switch between networks inside the interface — no migration or new setup is required.

Can I import an old external TRON private key?

TRON support works within the multichain structure. If you already control TRX elsewhere, you can transfer it to the automatically generated TRON address rather than importing external private keys.

Will my TRON address stay the same across devices?

Yes, as long as you use the same seed phrase, your TRON address remains consistent across mobile and browser versions after updating to a compatible release.

Can I receive TRC-20 tokens directly?

Yes. The generated TRON address supports TRX and TRC-20 tokens, so assets like USDT on TRON can be sent directly without additional configuration.
