Symbiosis becomes official pufETH bridge
The community of Symbiotes has spoken while voting on the proposal in our DAO, and we’re ready to unveil the next supported blockchain at Symbiosis - ZetaChain
While it comes in with a specific asset support, there’s more to talk about what this integration brings to Symbiosis, ZetaChain and Puffer Finance communities as well as benefits we introduce for our protocol users.
As usual, this article does not serve nor should be received as financial advice.
We become the official bridge for pufETH to ZetaChain
Besides the general support of the asset and opening the new route, there is another value that we bring to Symbiosis to strengthen our ecosystem and nourish our product.
According to some outlets, liquid restaking (or LR) seems to foster the Ethereum ecosystem – one of the key elements in the crypto world. By integrating a new LR token, we expand the variety of assets that provide additional benefits for the DeFi sphere, supporting the growth of Symbiosis.
All important information on ZetaChain and Puffer Finance
Symbiosis now supports ZetaChain network and Puffer Finance liquid restaking asset - pufETH within our WebApp. Here’s a short overview of each of them
What is Puffer Finance?
Puffer Finance is a decentralized native liquid restaking protocol that is built on EigenLayer - a protocol known for the access to the Ethereum base of staked capital. Puffer Finance is designed to enhance the Ethereum proof-of-stake (PoS) ecosystem by making staking more accessible and efficient while still maintaining decentralization.
What you should know is the core component of Puffer Finance’s liquid restaking system - pufETH token. This asset represents the staked version of ETH token and stems from the traditional staking model providing additional rewards.
Good news is that pufETH is now available at Symbiosis and you can bridge the token to ZetaChain network via our WebApp.
What is ZetaChain?
ZetaChain is a Layer 1 blockchain network known for its chain abstraction. The main goal of ZetaChain is to solve the problems of multi-chain accessibility (which deeply resonates with the purpose of Symbiosis protocol). Its approach includes Chain Abstraction Framework that enables interoperability of Cosmos SDK, Universal EVM and Omnichain Smart Contract which enables the calls to such assets as Bitcoin.
The ecosystem of ZetaChain supports several decentralized applications - including Puffer Finance and, now, Symbiosis
Bridge pufETH to ZetaChain via Symbiosis
The flow is similar to the usual process of bridging funds at our WebApp. Here’s a short tutorial on how to bridge pufETH token from Ethereum to ZetaChain:
Open the Bridge page at Symbiosis WebApp;
Search pufETH token and choose it for your transaction;
After the Step 2, proceed to the bridge process and state the amount of token to be bridged and choose ZetaChain as your desired destination network;
Review the terms of your bridge and if everything looks good, continue bridging by connecting your wallet and pressing the button “Bridge”;
In a short matter of time, your ZetaChain wallet balance should be updated and your tokens should be bridged.
Simple and fast within one transaction your pufETH tokens are now moved from Ethereum to ZetaChain network.
What’s coming next at Symbiosis?
We strive for new technologies and expanding the variety of supported routes and benefits.

01
How does Puffer Finance work?
Puffer is a native liquid restaking protocol built on EigenLayer. You deposit ETH, which gets delegated to validators earning Ethereum PoS rewards, then restaked through EigenLayer for additional yield that flows back to pufETH holders.
02
What is pufETH and how does it differ from ETH?
PufETH is Puffer's liquid restaking token you get when you stake ETH. Unlike plain ETH, it keeps accruing both Ethereum PoS and EigenLayer restaking rewards while staying liquid for DeFi use.
03
How do I bridge pufETH to ZetaChain via Symbiosis?
Open the Bridge page in the Symbiosis WebApp, search and select pufETH, set your amount, choose ZetaChain as destination, connect your wallet and hit Bridge. It moves from Ethereum to ZetaChain in one transaction.
04
Which assets can I stake to mint pufETH?
Puffer supports ETH, stETH, wstETH, and WETH. ETH, WETH, and stETH are treated 1:1 with ETH, while wstETH uses a separate conversion rate.
05
Is pufETH pegged 1:1 to ETH on ZetaChain?
No. pufETH isn't a hard 1:1 peg — its exchange rate versus ETH rises over time as staking and restaking rewards accumulate. On ZetaChain, expect its value to track ETH plus accrued yield.
06
What extra risks does holding pufETH add?
PufETH carries smart contract and slashing risk from both Puffer and EigenLayer, on top of normal bridge and destination-chain risks. Puffer uses Secure-Signer and Remote Attestation Verification to reduce slashing, but doesn't eliminate it.
07
How does pufETH compare to stETH across chains?
StETH captures only Ethereum PoS rewards from Lido's validator set. pufETH is a liquid restaking token bundling both Ethereum staking and EigenLayer restaking yield in one asset, so bridging it means exposure to multiple yield streams and risks.
08
Do I need 32 ETH to mint pufETH?
No. Puffer pools user funds, removing the traditional 32 ETH validator requirement, so you can stake much smaller amounts. The practical minimum is whatever your wallet and the Puffer app enforce, plus gas.
